The basic certificate course is an intensive two-week course which introduces the principal
concepts and techniques of geographical information systems
(GIS) and Geographic Positioning System (GPS). The course
consists of three interrelated parts: a theoretical part which
focuses on the concepts, a practical part which aims at developing
hands-on skills in using software tools, and an application oriented
part in which participants learn how to design and carry out sequential
data processing steps for solving typical application problems in their
areas of interest.
