Space Applications and Environmental Science Laboratory
You are Welcome...
The Space Applications and Environmental Science Laboratory (SPAEL)
was established in the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Studies,
Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in January 2005 and has been working
in partnership with the Green Development Initiative (GDI), Port-Harcourt
since 2010. SPAEL has two main units which are Geo informatics and Climate Change.
The laboratory has been involved in the pursuit of scientific endeavour
by engaging in various researches and consultancies which are geared towards
sustainable growth and development in the areas of Remote Sensing, Geographic
Information System, Climate Change, Environmental Protection etc.
SPAEL Vision
become
a top-rated laboratory of international repute and develop
as an international resource centre
for space applications.
SPAEL Mision
The Space Applications and Environmental Science Laboratory’s (SPAEL) mission
is to equip students and researchers with requisite skills
in the applications of remote sensing and GIS
required for diverse and/or complex environmental analysis.
The Laboratory’s main goal is to
